Spain is far away. Civil War is raging there. Why should you be interested? Because the Spanish People's Government is fighting to prevent war from breaking out in Europe.   The Spanish Fascists are bringing war nearer to Europe.
Picture a Saturday morning. Millions of workers all over Spain going to their work as usual, suspecting nothing. On their way thousands are shot down in cold blood by Fascists, rising in rebellion against the newly elected Government.
That is how the Fascists started the Civil War in Spain. At the General Election last February they had been beaten by a big majority at the Ballot Box. They are now attempting to seize power by the Bullet.
Picture a working class quarter in a Spanish town. Women are going out shopping. Shells drop in the crowded working-class streets. Women and children are killed. That was how the Fascists announced their "crusade for Christianity" to the working women of Spain.
WHAT ARE THE FASCISTS OUT FOR?
Dictatorship by a Fascist General instead of rule by the Elected Government of the people.
Lower wages and no Trade Unions.
Massacre of all political opponents.   2,000 were slain when Badajoz was captured.
An alliance with Hitler and Mussolini for war against the peaceful democratic countries of Europe.
We are sure that this is not YOUR idea of Christianity ?
If the Fascists get away with the massacre in Spain, they will try to repeat it in every democratic country in Europe.  They will involve us all in War.
If you do not desire to see your loved ones destroyed in war----Support the peaceful
Spanish people against the murderous Generals and Army Officers.
Demand that our Government give them munitions to suppress the Fascists who are out for European war.
Rush money to help the Spanish People.
