Our Government is Helping the Fascists! 
The Spanish Workers Fight for Democracy With Their Lives!
IF ever Fascism betrayed its extreme bestiality it is doing so now in Spain. Against the Spanish People's Front Government, elected in accordance with their democratic will and vote is arrayed the brutal and degenerate Moroccan army.
Having organised and inspired a number of terroristic acts against anti-fascist leaders, having initiated tactics of individual terror, the Spanish fascists summoned the Foreign Legion of Morocco, composed of the riff-raff scoundrels and criminals of civilisation, to drown the People's Government in blood.
Fascism in Spain has demonstrated for the whole world to see that it is counter-revolutionary anarchism and the provoker of internal disorder and civil war.
It organised a mutiny against order, constitutionalism and democracy in Spain. It attempts to destroy the Spanish democracy, based on the law of Spain.
Fascism, which has boasted so lightly of its love of country and nationalism, sets against the Spanish people the criminals and debauchers of Alfonso's aristocrats and forces colonial troops to foully murder the people of Spain.
Undoubtedly it has taken these steps because of the impunity created for the Fascist aggressors, Mussolini and Hitler. The hand of Berlin and Rome is clearly to be seen in the events in Spain. The atrocities, foul murders and attempts to wreck Spanish democracy are carrying to its logical conclusion the bloody creed of Fascism.
There can also be no doubt that there are many circles of the British ruling class equally hoping for a Fascist victory.   That is why the National Government refuses to supply the Spanish warships, belonging to the legally accredited Government of the Spanish people, with coal and oil.
This is not neutrality : this is concrete help to the Alfonsos and Gil Robles.
The National Government warns the same warships against firing on Fascist aeroplanes. This is not neutrality; this is concrete help for the Fascist bloodhounds.
British Imperialism hopes for a Fascist victory. It will bear before history the heavy responsibility for the assistance to a Fascist rising against a constitutional and democratic People's Government.
But the Spanish people, workers, peasants, intellectuals, men and women alike, are fighting in unforgettable bravery and heroism. They are defending democracy with their lives!
They are not defending it for Spain alone. They are doing it for the Peoples of all democratic countries in Europe. For who can doubt if Fascism triumphs in Spain that to-morrow
