Many thanks for your letter of the 8th instant. I am not, at the moment, able to give you a definite order but we are thinking in terms of the following:-

Full Cream sweetened condensed milk.... 725.
Full Cream powdered milk............... 500.
Corned beef............................ 250.
Fat bacon.............................. 250.
Dried cod.............................. 700.
Biscuits (ships)....................... 100.
biscuits (sweet)....................... 100.
Soap................................... 700.
Cocoa.................................. 100.
Lentils................................ 100.
Could you please proceed with enquiries on the above basis and let me know at the earliest possible moment as to whether early delivery is impossible of any of the items.
At the same time you might let me have an estimate of quantities and prices in respect of each item on the basis or the approximate figures given above. We should like £5,000 to cover insurance and other charges.
