INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY FUND
In reply to your letter of the 29th November, under this heading, I have to inform you that the position of the International Solidarity Fund, as far as information about food shortage in Spain is concerned, remains the same as that described in my last letter on this subject, i.e., there have been some individual statements in the press, but the International Solidarity Fund as such has not received any official and direct information from Spain about the great shortage of food in Barcelona or elsewhere.
We nevertheless think that consignments of food and soap could be sent to Barcelona. You informed us in your last letter on this subject that £5,000 were still available in London for direct relief to Spain, and I would therefore suggest that a consignment to this value might be despatched to Barcelona.
