Spanish Workers: Basque Children.
In accordance with the request contained in your letter of the 13th instant, I am sending you herein the particulars you require with regard to the monies collected in this country for Spain.
SPANISH WORKERS' APPEAL.
The total amount collected to date for the Spanish workers is £34, 562. 6. 9½. Of this amount we have remitted to the I.F.T.U. an amount of £12,776. 15. 0., and have also made grants to (1) The Spanish Relief Committee; (2) The Scottish Ambulance Unit; and (3) The Spanish Medical Aid Committee totalling £4,550. In addition purchases of food and clothing amounting to £8,739. 2. 10. have been made from the Co-operative Wholesale Society Limited and despatched direct to Spain. Surgical goods to a total value of £189. 6. 6. have also been sent to our Spanish comrades.
