JESUS & JULIAN HICKMAN URRUTIA.
I have been into this matter and I am afraid that we have no suitable opening for either of these people. The experience which they have would appear to warrant their being employed in the capacity of senior draughtsmen whereas all our vacancies at the present time are for juniors at a salary of about £4 a week.
There is of course the added difficulty of language and I understand that neither of them can speak English and it is also necessary to point out that we are prohibited nowadays from employing foreigners in our technical departments. Whether the fact that they are now British subjects would get over this difficulty or not I do not know but no doubt this could be ascertained.
If either one of them cares to come to us in the capacity of junior draughtsman with little hope of immediate promotion, we should be glad to consider offering him work subject to the necessary permits being obtained from the Government Departments concerned.
