re JULIAN HICKMAN URRUTIA AND JESUS HICKMAN URRUTIA.
I have been worried what to do about your letter of 15th instant, and have had quite a long talk with our district organiser for the London and adjacent areas. He has had people from the Spanish Republican Army already with aircraft experience, and has recommended them to certain of the aircraft firms where he thought they might be sympathetically received, but there has been nothing doing.
It is particularly difficult in the case of Spaniards to find a sympathetic employer, more so than it was in the case of Jewish employees.
Actually there are not a great number of draughtsmen in ironworks, unless by this is included structural steel firms. What he thought would be the best line would be for you to get into touch direct with Mr. Stokes, of Ransome & Rapier, Ipswich, who, of course is the Labour M.P. for that city. He has a very big staff and does a vast variety of work, including agricultural instruments, excavators, &c. He might be able to place Julian Urrutia, possibly on an outside staff.
