Dear Comrade,
I have received your letter of the 8th instant addressed to me as President of the International Federation of Trade Unions.
The International Solidarity Fund which is responsible for assisting our Spanish friends is administered primarily from Paris and I am, therefore, forwarding your letter to the Secretary of the I.F.T.U., M. Schevenels.
I need hardly say how deeply we feel the present privations of our fellow Trade Unionists who had to leave Spain, but you will appreciate how difficult it is to deal with a very large number of individual cases. So far as your letter is concerned, no specific request is made, but as I say, your communication is being sent to Paris when, in the light of their commitments, M. Schevenels will be able to see what action can be taken to render assistance to you.
Yours sincerely,
General Secretary.
