SENOR W. CARRILLO.
Many thanks for your letter of the 8th inst. regarding the possibility of arranging for the family of Senor Carrillo to join him in this Country. For your information I may say that we have already had conversations with Comrade Carrillo and are doing what we can to effect a reunion between him and his family.
We think it would be desirable if at all possible, to arrange for Comrade Carrillo to join his family in France and efforts in this direction are now being made. If however, it is found that such an arrangement is not possible, we will then approach the authorities in this Country with a view to arranging for a permit to enable the members of his family to come here. In such an event we shall be very glad to avail ourselves of your very kind offer to accept responsibility for their maintenance until such time as the position becomes more clear and other arrangements can be made.
I think you should know however, that the family comprise four persons and not two as stated in your letter; there being a married daughter and her husband; a daughter aged 17 and a son aged 14. No doubt you will be good enough to let us know whether your offer covers all four of these people, if we should succeed in getting them to this Country.
