21st October, 1939.
Comrade Walter Citrine.
There are a large number of Spanish refugees who are asking me for the address of the National Federation of their respective occupations in Great Britain, with a view to seeing if they can make arrangements to work here, as it appears that authorisation is going to be given to aliens to accept employment in this country.
I do not know the addresses for which they are asking me, and, desirous of assisting then, I am taking the liberty of approaching you and of requesting you to make available to me a list of Federations. with the names of their General Secretaries and their addresses, so as to avoid bothering you with repeated requests of a similar kind.
I would also be grateful if you would let me have any information you have about the possibility of our securing employment. In this way, I could be in a position to keep all the Spaniards who ask for it in touch with the information available on this point.
Pardon me for troubling you again,
(signed) W. Carrillo.
