Senor J. I. de Lizaso,
Basque Delegation,
14, Eccleston Sq., S.W. 1.
Dear Senor Lizaso,
You will recall that in the early days of the maintenance of the Spanish seamen in this country, you were good enough to supply us with lists which shewed, under the various ports, the names of the men, their former ships, and, in some cases, their employment.
We are trying to compile a complete list of the men by ports and occupations. We shall be very glad if you can assist us in this respect; we appreciate your difficulty in securing such information, but if it is possible for you to supplement the particulars which you sent us in May last, we shall be very obliged to you. If it is found that there are centres from which you have received no information, we would suggest that you might consider making a further application.
Yours sincerely,
Assistant Secretary.
