Dear Sir Walter,
Some months ago I wrote you on behalf of Largo Caballero's son, who was serving as a soldier in one of the regiments which went to Franco and was arrested at the very beginning of the war for no other crime that being the son of the Spanish Trade-Unions' General Secretary. He has been in prison during the whole war and is still there. I asked you if you could do anything for his freedom. But I am afraid my letter - sent to your private address - went astray. 
At the beginning of this new war I offered myself to some old English friends with whom I worked during the last European war in the Spanish Press in favour of the Allies' cause and I have begun to write a book on The War and the Workers, for the Spanish speaking America and eventually for some European neutral countries.
