Dear Comrade Rosal,
I have only Just seen your letter of the 29th June which was received here on the 7th July, owing to my having been absent in the North attending Trade Union meetings,       I had, however, read the gist of your letter, which was published in the "Daily Herald" and certain other British newspapers, some time before we received your direct communication.   I must confess I was puzzled at the references it contained to personalities of the International Labour Movement "being influenced by the intensive campaign and manoeuvres which are being conducted in the international sphere by reactionary elements of British and French Conservatism in particular".
The suggestion that such personalities are being influenced by any such reactionary campaign, is, so far as I know, entirely without foundation, and I know of no one who has been in the least degree weakened in their loyalty to the cause of the Spanish people in their heroic resistance to Fascist aggression.
Right from the commencement of the Fascist rebellion every action which has been taken by the Labour Movement in Great Britain has been in strict accordance with the express policy and desires of the Spanish Republican Government and
