UNION GENERAL DE TRABAJADORES DE ESPAÑA
Barcelona,
27th August, 1938
Trades Union Congress.
Dear Comrades,
We learn from the press of the forthcoming celebration of your National Congress, which is to take place at Blackpool
on 5th September.
Seeing that we shall not be able to be represented in your Assembly, we desire to convey to you, by the present communication, our best wishes for the success of your deliberations on behalf of all workers; and at the same time to signify our gratitude for the solidarity which the British proletariat is showing towards us in our war and which we hope may be still further intensified from now on, in proportion to the necessities of our struggle to drive the invaders from Spanish soil.
Long live the Trades Union Congress!
Long live the International Federation of Trade Unions!
Fraternally yours,
For the Executive Committee,
(signed) A. Genova, Acting President,
(signed) Felipe Pretel, Administrative Secretary.
