FROM: XIXth CORPS OF THE ARMY no date.
66th DIVISION
16th MIXED BRIGADE
MUNITIONS.
Dear Comrades, Greeting!
We who are at present fighting in the lines of loyalist Spain against an invasion which is chiefly foreign and which is relying on waterside rate, address ourselves to you with the intention of sending you our greeting.
The two sinister figures which have invaded Austria and Czechoslovakia are the same ones which have had designs to subdue Spain by terror, but we workers of Spain, thanks to a close unity, have been able to face them and to resist them for two years and a half, and we shall resist them up to the last drop. What we ask of you, our class brothers, is that you forge a close unity with all the anti-Fascist groups in your country, and that with this strong bloc you bring pressure to bear on your Government to make it prevent all foreign intervention on our soil. Remember, comrades, that in these trenches of Republican Spain, Peace and the social system of Europe is at stake, and if some day the enemy passed over our corpses and the ruins of our nation, the peace of Europe would cease to exist, and advanced legislation would disappear immediately.
Comrades, energetic action of the working-class strongly united, against totalitarian pacts and wavering! By this means alone we shall be able to protect Europe from the oppression which they wish to impose on it.
With proletarian greetings,
Yours, etc.
