Dear Mr. Bevin,
SAILINGS OF S.S. "Yorkbrook".
I have today received a letter from Mr. Schevenels (copy of which I enclose) about a ship which has been making journeys between Finland and other countries.
It is reported that this ship, which has now been captured by a Spanish Government cruiser, was carrying arms.
As the Finnish organisations wish to know what the cargo really consisted of, and whether the ship went to its alleged destination, I am writing you to enquire whether you have any information in your possession and are able to throw any light on this matter.
Thanking you in advance,
Yours faithfully,
General Secretary
