SPEECH OF CABALLERO.
Madam Krier of Luxemburg recently sent out an account in French of events which had been taking place in connection with the U.G.T. Copy of this is enclosed herewith.
In response to our enquiry as to the source of her information, she stated that the news was taken fron a report published in the U.G.T. paper "La Correspondencia de Valencia", which she receives regularly from comrades of the U.G.T.     With her letter she also sent 3 copy of an evening paper called "Avance", published in Alicante, which contains a copy of the speech of comrade Caballero, together with a manifesto.
These latter are in the Spanish language. If you can get someone in your office to translate the manifesto and will send it to me I shall be much obliged.     Moreover, I shall be glad to have any details of special significance which are in comrade Caballero's speech.
Madam Krier's letter also contains the following information:
"after the Madrid speech the Government forbade all public political speeches.
"The position of Caballero and the friends of the old and authentic U.G.T. is very critical. Only this morning I received a letter from Tomas, which had escaped the censor, and which was accompanied by some copies and documents in which I could read that the persecution of our friends is really serious.
