With reference to your letter of the 21st instant, no doubt by this time you will have seen the subsequent correspondence I had with the "New Leader", and which appeared in their issue of the 20th November.
As I stated there, there is not the slightest truth that either a telegram, message or communication of any kind came to the General Council from the French Trade Union organisation.     I seriously considered taking a libel action against the "New Leader" as it was quite evident to me that they endeavoured to put the worst construction upon all that had been done by the General Council.
After mature consideration, I decided not to do that although there was no doubt that the article was definitely libellous.    I took the precaution of communicating with the French T.U.C. and found, as I expected, that no message had been sent by them. It is regrettable that such statements appear in papers which are supposed to try to tell their readers the truth.
