Dear Fimmen,
I have received your letter of January 11th, and I may say that I at once agree with you that the reference in our Report - page 6, lines 3, 4 and 5 - should have been "He regretted that his declaration could not cover the British Transport Workers' organisations". You certainly did not particularise any special organisation but rather referred to them all.
Moreover, it is quite true to say that on the previous day I did indicate that the resolution of the Conference of the 26th October, which placed special obligations upon Transport workers to prevent the transport of munitions, and supplies to the Rebels, was not acceptable to our Transport Workers' organisations in Great Britain.
I hope that the misunderstanding will be cleared up although if I may say so, I think your declaration conveyed the unfortunate impression that the British Transport Workers were somewhat less sympathetic to our Spanish comrades than the organisations of other countries affiliated to the I.T.F.
