Transcript	CONSEIL GÉNÉRAL DE LA SEINE Republique Francaise Liberte Egalite Fraternite 4.3.37 Dear Comrade Comrade Stolz, of the International Trades Unions Federation has asked me to send you: 1) my portrait. You will find one recent one - where I look rather sad - perhaps I was thinking about Spain, when it was taken..... 2) some biography. Unfortunately I have been unable to find a printed notice wich was typewritten by my secretary, two or three years ago. At any rate here are some summary indication: Born 1876, London, where his father Charles Longuet, Paris Commune refugee, was professor London University King's College between 1872 and 1881. Had married 1872 Jenny Marx, Karl Marx eldest daughter. Jean Longuet eldest son, came back to France, after amnesty in 1881. Educated Caen and Paris University. Entered politics as socialist student's leader in 1895.
