C'est ce que se propose l'Union Catalane pour la S.D.N. avec ce service hebdomadaire de commentaires d'affaires extérieures de la Presse de Barcelone.
The establishment of contact with the thought of Nations is, we are convinced, the best way by which the peoples of the earth may be drawn together in the bonds of friendship and lead all together up to the spirit of the League of Nations. This is what the Catalan League of Nations Union proposes to do by means of this weekly service of comments on foreign affairs taken from the Barcelona Press.

HUMANITAT   (23-6-37) Editorial
Catalonia has been superior to all what happened.   Catalonia has been sustaining the strain month after month and has saved herself, by herself, and with no help whatever besides her spirit and her serenity.  Do peruse history and tell me whether any country has ever gone through ordeals such as have been endured by Catalonia.   And, nevertheless, the Capital, the towns and the country keep smiling, in spite of the tragedy, with that air of plenitude that has made Catalonia strong.   Our country has been uplifted by the love of all her sons, has bean uplifted by the hundreds of citizens who have felt the shame of systematic violence enjoying impunity.    The country-side has become the back-bone of our struggle, without being necessary any special appeal to the peasants' good sense; the crops are saved and the peasant knows what is his future duty, without having been necessary to introduce any exotic methods.
LAS NOTICIAS    (24-6-37)   Awaiting the "Shocking"
The German dramatic "coup", servilely followed up by Fascist Italy, does not seem to involve the withdrawal of the two countries from non-intervention. Now then: at this point, one notices that, in the middle of "direct action", they care above all for the political and diplomatic sense.    There are some moments in which that political or diplomatic sense is an attack on pure logics.  If Germany leaves the control she has finished her work in the non-intervention.   That seems to us an unquestionable reasoning.    Ir [It]  can be assumed, on the other hand, that from this moment onwards she will have more to do with intervention.
Germany is also playing her diplomatic game, in the manner of her peculiar diplomacy which consists in hiding herself behind the British diplomacy of good faith, in order to display hers, that of provocation and childish delusion.
But she will not be able to maintain that diplomacy for a long time, one day will come when Great Britain will consider herself abused and cheated. It will be the day on which German unrest will arise under the influence of the "Shocking".
