Dear Secretary,
I enclose a copy of a memorandum on the situation in Spain, and a copy of a resolution adopted by the National Peace Council at its special meeting on February 18th. Will you please invite your controlling committee to consider the terms and suggestions of the resolution at the earliest convenient moment. Additional copies of the summary of agreed factors and of the resolution are available.
The Executive Committee of the Council have approved a recommendation that the dates of the National Peace Congress should be advanced from the period originally proposed - i.e. April 9th-12th. Owing to the extreme pressure of work to which the Council is already committed, it had become practically impossible to ensure a satisfactory Congress in the time available. The date now chosen is May 28th-31st, when the Congress will meet in London at Friends House, Euston Road. We shall be grateful if you will inform your Committee of this change as soon as possible. It is hoped to issue the first notice in about ten days' time. Would you let us know at the earliest moment whether you can distribute copies through your organisation and, if so, how many would be required?
Yours sincerely,
GERALD BAILEY.
Directing Secretary.
