Thank you for your letter of the 29th October with regard to the appeals you have received from the above named organisation for financial assistance and for a protest to be sent to the French Embassy.
In reply to your enquiry, I may say that this Association is under Communist control, and it would be out of order for your Trades Council to spend time discussing correspondence from it.
For the information of your Council, we have made certain enquiries concerning the complaint made which concerns the decision of the French Government to deport 150 persons to Algeria.
You will recall that France offered asylum to a large number of Spaniards some years ago
