Thank you for your letter of the 2nd November in which you enclose the communication which you have received from the above named organisation and request our observations before you bring it before your next Trades Council meeting. I appreciate your action in asking for this information.
In the first place, I would like you to inform your Council that the Association in question is under Communist control and that it would be out of order for your Council to spend time discussing the letter or to give any of its funds to it.
The General Assembly of the United Nations has now, by a large majority, decided to revoke its decision calling for the withdrawal of Ambassadors from Madrid. The General Council made clear to the Government the hostility of the Movement to this proposition. The Government did not support
