I am returning herewith the correspondence which you have had from the International Brigade Association and Friends of Republican Spain with regard to Manuel Robles Arangis, former President of the Catholic Basque Federation of Workers, (Basque Workers Solidarity).
This is a very bad case of exploitation by the International Brigade Association, who needless to say, took up the case without any kind of consultation with the Basque Workers Solidarity.  Indeed we have received a communication from that organisation earlier this month protesting that the activities of the International Brigade Association are harmful to the prisoners themselves, and that the Basque prisoners have themselves expressed the wish that the International Brigade "dissociate themselves altogether from interference which is only directed to the Brigade's ends".
I am returning the correspondence to your herewith. I was grateful to you for sending me the correspondence which you had had with the P.T.T. section of the U.G.T. concerning action taken on behalf of your colleagues inside Spain.   I shall be glad if you will keep us in touch with developments in this matter.
