1. MINUTES.
The Minutes of the meeting held on July 20th, having been circulated, were signed, corrected with the alteration of the word "feminine" in the last paragraph of item 5 on page 3.
2. ARISING OUT OF THE MINUTES.
Correspondence. Reported no reply had been received from the Home Office about allowing more Spanish-speaking adults to come into the country.
(a). Diss Centre. Question was asked about this centre about group of 50 boys. Reported that it was a camp to be run under Miss Vulliamy who had been helping throughout at Southampton since the children left on the Habana. The camp was purely temporary and was on the Norfolk-Suffolk borders. It was being staffed, equipped and paid for by the central office and accommodation would have to be found later in the year for the boys under proper cover. Motion proposed by Miss Anderson, seconded by Mrs. Manning.
(b). Co-options. Agreed that the Spanish Women's Aid be written to, asking them to appoint a representative on to this Executive.
The Duchess raised the question of appointing a representative from the Clothing Depot to serve on this Committee. Agreed that the Committee ought to have a report on the matter, but that it was better she should serve on the Centres and not on the full Executive. Agreed, therefore, that Mrs. McClintock be asked to attend future meetings of the Centres Committee.
