The enclosed letter appeared in The Times last Saturday. It gives briefly the present position with regard to the Basque children.
The continuation of the War, and especially the intensification of bombing, has placed the Committee in a very difficult position, and we need now more than ever the support both moral and practical of those who agreed with the bringing over of the children and who helped to establish them in this country.
We ask you to do two things:
(a) To get the widest publicity for the facts shown in the letter to The Times and the War conditions, both in the local Press and among all individual supporters of your Committee
(b) to look round and see in what way it is possible to get even wider support for your work, both through subscriptions to build up reserve funds and through securing "adoptions" or regular contributions for the children.
If you have a large Works in your district it might be possible to organise a weekly Works Collection on the same lines as collections are taken for Hospitals. There are a large
