1. MINUTES.
The Minutes of the meeting of August 31st, having been circulated, were taken as read, and signed, subject to the following corrections:
(i) p.3. line 3: a redundant 'a' was struck out;
(ii) last page: for ''bad propaganda" substitute "hostile propaganda".
2. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE:
Were received from: Miss Pye, Lieut.-Commissioner Barnett.
3. BUSINESS ARISING ON THE MINUTES: None.
4. CORRESPONDENCE: None.
5. REPATRIATION: It was recalled that at the last meeting it had been decided to send a delegation to Bilbao to investigate requests for repatriation. After much correspondence and consultation with persons outside the sphere of politics, Dr. Norman White and Dame Janet Campbell had been asked to go and had kindly agreed to do so. The Foreign Office had on the 16th, telegraphed to General Franco to ask leave for them to go.
Mrs. Miller reported that the Foreign Office had been requested to facilitate such a visit. No reply had been received so far.
