MINUTES of a meeting of the Basque Children's Committee held on January 12th, 1938, at 35 Marsham Street, S.W.1., at 5.30 p.m.

1. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE: None
2. CORRESPONDENCE : The Secretary reported a donation of £500 from the International Co-operative Alliance to the Basque Children's Fund. The Chairman stated that if a special letter of thanks were drafted, she would sign it.
3. REPORT ON REPATRIATION:
(a) Past. Mr. Garratt reported that a group of 500 returned to Spain on January 7th, making 830 sent back to insurgent Spain, and 53 to parents outside Spain.
Asked how many applications had been set aside as unsuitable or doubtful, Mr. Garratt replied about 80 or 100, and 7 or 8 were now being examined in Bilbao.
(b) Future. There were about 100 children with parents in Catalonia, but applications for these had not been received. It was agreed that further information be secured from the homes.
4. ACCOMMODATION AND TRANSFERS.
Mr. Roberts reported briefly on the work of the Transfer Committee. The Committee had taken over the financial responsibility of the Salvation Army home at Brixton. The Home at Hadleigh would not be continued.
