having been handed to the members at the beginning of the meeting, were taken as read, approved and signed, at the meeting's close.
3. CORRESPONDENCE: The Secretary reported a letter received from Mr. Paul H. Guenault, of Johannesburg reporting the formation of a branch of the National Joint Committee in Johannesburg working under the same objects and provisions as the Joint Committee. All moneys would be sent to the National Joint Committee in London. Mr. Guenault, who was known to the Committee as having worked on the Leeds Committee, asked permission to use the names of the Duchess of Atholl, the Earl of Listowel and Viscount Cecil of Chelwood. It was agreed to ask permission for these names to be used.
(b) It was reported that a letter had been received from Messrs. J. & E. Hall, Ltd., of Dartford, Kent, asking for permission to use the playing field at the back of Laleham School, Margate, as a camping ground for one week in August. Agreed that provided -
(a) there were no practical objections such as infection
(b) that Messrs. J. & E. Hall, were willing to pay compensation for the use of the site.
(c) that the local Committee be asked whether they approved the suggestion
