1. MATTERS ARISING ON THE MINUTES :
(a) Home for Older boys in Catalonia. The Secretary read a letter from Miss Pye containing a report from Dr. Audrey Russell of a farm school in Catalonia where it might be possible to send 50 older boys for training. It was stated that there are 63 boys of 16 or over in England, of which number only 9 had parents in Government Spain. After discussion it was agreed that older boys of 15 or over should be divided into the following categories for purposes of ascertaining if they could be sent to this farm colony:
(1) boys with both parents in Catalonia, unless there is strong reason against it.
(ii) boys with one parent in Catalonia and one in rebel Spain should be consulted as to their wishes, but with the emphasis on their going to the colony;
(iii) boys with one parent in France, to be treated like those with one parent in rebel Spain;
(iv) boys with both parents in France: parents should be communicated with;
(v) orphans: the Basque Government should be consulted.
