2. MINUTES OF LAST MEETING:
The Minutes of the last Meeting having been circulated, were taken as read and signed.
3. MATTERS ARISING OUT OF THE MINUTES:
(a) Faringdon. Mrs. Carritt had written to Dr. Morgan to the effect that there was a possibility of a large house at Shipton under Wychwood being offered to the Oxford Committee rent free for six months. It would hold about 50 children. It was agreed that more information re overhead expenses, rates, etc., should be obtained from the Oxford Committee. Meanwhile, the possibility of sending the Faringdon boys to Sheffield and the older boys to Brighton was to be kept in mind. The question of the evacuation of the younger children was again to be looked into.
Mr. Leonard had written saying that he hoped to get a man cook very shortly so that the Auxiliar could be released.
(b) Lady Layton's report on the Brighton and Worthing Homes. Lady Layton gave an excellent report of the Worthing Home where Sr. and Sra. Omegna were acting as joint Wardens. Sr. Omegna had said that if the Brighton Home were taken over, he would very well be able to live in the Home for some little while until it was properly established. He wanted to run it on the same lines as Penstone House. Both Mrs. Thornycroft and Sr. Omegna said they would be willing to work with the Brighton Committee.
