Dear Sir Walter,
Just a note to say that I have not yet been able to find out when the Prime Minister will be able to see us. I imagine that all the Departments are first going to be consulted, as I heard from the Head of one of then today that the matter was having his consideration. I fear it may even mean a Cabinet meeting.
I enclose for your confidential consideration a copy of the letter which was sent on behalf of my Committee to the Prime Minister.
David Grenfell also mentioned to me that you suggested that the new Committee should be a joint Committee for the special purpose of looking after refugee children in this country. I suggest some name like "Spanish Children's Refugee Committee".
I am very glad that the Catholics are supporting us fully. The Archbishop of Westminster has allowed a statement to this effect to be issued to the Press tonight and, last but not least, I want to express the gratitude of my Committee at the figure of £5000, which Mr. Tewson mentioned as the contribution we might expect from you for this work.
Yours sincerely,
Wilfrid Roberts
