Letter Réunion du Bureau
No. 19
To the Members of the Executive.
Dear Comrade Citrine,
The joint meeting of the IFTU and LSI, which took place in Geneva on the 16th and 17th June, 1937, adopted a resolution, the text of which we are enclosing herewith.
It was further decided that the comrades of the Spanish National Trade Union Centre and of the Spanish Socialist Party should send in, in a very short delay - 2 or 3 days at the latest -, their concrete proposals for the action to be taken by both Internationals. These proposals, which are of urgent character, are to be submitted to a special meeting of both Internationals to be held in Paris
on the 24th June, at 10.0 a.m.
in the offices of the CGT, 213, rue Lafayette.
All members of the Executives of the IFTU and the LSI shall be invited.
When informing me of the decisions of the Geneva Meeting, Comrade Schevenels told me that it has been proposed to hold the meeting of the 24th June in Warsaw in connection with the General Council meeting of the IFTU, but the Geneva meeting unanimously judged it impossible for the Spanish and certain other comrades to go to Poland for such a meeting. On the other hand, this question is so urgent that it is impossible for the Spanish comrades to wait two weeks or more for a decision.
For all these reasons it was agreed to, in accordance with the President of the LSI, that the special meeting be held in Paris.
