Secretary's
6th July, 1937.
Mrs. C. Chapman,
Dundee Spanish Medical Aid Committee,
94, Ellengowan Drive,
Dundee.
Dear Mrs. Chapman,
Basque Children's Committee .
I have your letter of the 4th inst., informing me that you are about to form, at a public meeting, a Committee under the above title. I think this will go a long way towards removing the difficulties which may exist in the locality.
As an organisation we are co-operating with the National Committee for the care of Basque Children, but are not associated with the National Joint Committee for Spanish Relief.
It may be that the Local Trade Council would be more ready to co-operate in the formation of the new Committee. About a week ago I had some correspondence with Mr. Hughes the Treasurer of the Dundee Trades and Labour Council, and I suggested to him that he might talk the matter over with you. Probably in this way existing difficulties can be smoothed out.
Yours sincerely,
Assistant Secretary.
