On January the 16th and 17th 1936 an International Conference for aid to Republican Spain will be held in Paris.
Faithful to the resolutions adopted by the International Conference of June 20-21 1936, the International Bureau for respect for the right of asylum and aid to political refugees, which cares for those who have been driven from their homes and deprived of their bread by fascism or reaction, will give its full support to the work of the new Conference. At this Conference the question of the terrible situation of the refugees will be examined, as well as the questions of aid to the wounded, widows and orphans.
The bombardment of Madrid and other unfortified towns, the occupation of San-Sebastian, Irun, Badajoz, etc., have forced hundreds of thousands of human beings - women, children and old men - to leave their homes and seek refuge in other provinces of the Spanish Republic and even abroad.
The task of the International Conference of January 16th-17th to which we are giving our unqualified support, is to work out ways and means to aid and relief for the unfortunate victims of the civil war.
