The Spanish Medical Committee.
Order for Ambulances.
I beg to inform you that acting on the instructions of the Spanish Medical Aid Committee, as formally given to me at a meeting last night, I beg to place an order with you, not for Two Ambulances as given previously, but now for Four Ambulances and One Truck with a truck body as follows:-
(1) 3 (Three) Ambulances, to be of the type already verbally and in writing described to you, for ordinary surgical work; all on 2-Ton Bedford chassis.
(2) 1 (One) Gas Ambulance, as per specification verbally given and also given partially in writing to you; also on a 2-Ton Bedford chassis.
(3) 1 (One) Truck on a Bedford 2-Ton chassis with a truck body.
I informed the Committee last night — as outlined to me in the presence of Mr. Hunt, Mr. Smith, the London Bedford Sales Manager, and yourself yesterday afternoon — that the cost of a Surgical Ambulance would be not more than £500, probably less, in the vicinity to £450 to £470; that the Gas Ambulance will cost not more than £600, probably less, in the vicinity of £570 (but this could not be guaranteed because of the special nature of the Gas Ambulance).
I also understand from you on the telephone this morning that the Bedford Truck, with a truck body,
