SPANISH MEDICAL AID COMMITTEE.
I was instructed at the meeting of the Spanish Medical Aid Committee, held on the 25th August, 1937, to place a transport order with you for the following transport for the intended Mobile Surgical Unit to operate in Spain:-
(1)  A Large Covered Vehicle on the lines of and with the measurements of the Bedford Mammoth Pantechnicon.  There are, however, to be several modifications, as arranged with you and reported to the Committee, as to the body work on this chassis. 
(a) There is to be no false skirt to the body; the sizes and measurements are as laid down in the catalogue, but with the wheel boxes giving a lower floor and also a lower over-all height without affecting the inside measurements of the standard type.
(b) There is to be stronger body work in wood, no aluminium panelling, but this body work is to be steel-faced ply metal or plymax.   The wood body within is to be on the lines of the three large Ambulances recently constructed by you, angled-ironed and cornered, full depth doors at the back, with a step at the back but lower than in the catalogue picture, so as to give better clearance. If it is agreed that there should be no step, the floor to be made lower.
It is also agreed that there should be certain extras:  The steel roof which is required is an extra; the interior fittings and linings, with cupboards, to be regarded as an extra; petrol tanks to be regarded as extra; fittings for the support of the medical apparatus and  of the inside cupboards to be regarded as an extra;  the apparatus
