20th January 1938.
Dear Mr. Jeger,
As arranged in the course of our conversation yesterday, I enclose copy of the appeal to be addressed to Cardinal Hinsley and the Archbishops and Bishops of Great Britain. I have shown the draft to Mr. A. Greenwood and Mr. Middleton of the Labour Party and explained the purpose of the appeal. They are giving the project their warmest support and are helping me to obtain the signatures of a number of Members of Parliament and other representative Catholics.
I understand that Viscountess Hastings, Lord Kinnoul and Dr. H.B. Morgan, who are members of your organisation, are Catholics. I should be very glad if you would let me know, as early as possible, whether they will support and sign the appeal. Their names may help to obtain the support of some waverers. I am sure that you will appreciate the urgency.
Yours sincerely,
F. O'Hanlon
George Jeger, Esq. J.P.,
