DR. H.B. MORGAN.
MR. A. LUCKHURST SCOTT.
Social Insurance.
31st October, 1938.
MR. ALAN HADDEN.
All I know about Mr. Alan Hadden is that he has worked in Spain for the Spanish Medical Aid Committee, and recently has been in charge in Great Britain, or has been an assistant in the Tour of the Rolls Royce Ambulance of the Spanish Medical Aid Committee, in the various seaports and other towns of Great Britain, after its service in Spain. He had an accident in London when driving the Rolls Royce Ambulance, and subsequently I had him X-rayed at St. Thomas' Hospital, free of charge. But there was no fracture and the pain in his back was simply due to a slight blow received at the time of the accident. That was some weeks ago, and I have not heard of him since.
I know very little personally of Mr. Alan Hadden. I think I have only met him twice at the most, and I have no knowledge of his previous movements or of his previous political associations. I think in view of his present address it would be wiser to write him a diplomatic letter, saying that you will be glad to see him after he has got better, and asking him to postpone consideration of joining until he is much improved.
Mr. A. Hadden's letter attached.
