Dear Sir,
re the Spanish Medical Aid Committee.
I am writing  to you, as a member of the British Medical Association Council and as a Chairman of the Spanish Medical Aid Committee for nearly two-and-a-half years, to ask you, as a Chairman of the British Medical Association, whether you could see your way to allow a free copy of the British Medical Journal to go every week to the Officer in charge of one of the Hospitals in Spain to which we contribute.
I am enclosing herewith a copy of a letter which the Spanish  Medical Aid Committee received from the Deputy Medical Editor of the British Medical Journal. You will see that the suggestion made there is that the Medical Officer in charge of the Hospital might join the British Medical Association but he is a Spanish medical man serving in one of the Official Hospitals in the Civil War, keenly interested in the medical work, having regard to the fact that we have supplied them with so many surgical appliances and instruments.  He has come into contact with our Nurses there and knows English, and I therefore urge that in the circumstances it might be an act of grace if the British Medical Journal might be forwarded to this Officer who is obviously interested in British Medicine.
I will be very much obliged if you will send your reply to the Secretary of the Spanish Medical Aid Committee as I am leaving for the West Indies Friday next.
I am also enclosing a copy of a letter from the British Journal of Surgery, showing that the Directors of that Journal are making the  necessary
