Dear Miss Montagu-Pollock,
I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 8th inst., informing me of the suggestion made at the last meeting of the International Brigade Sub-Committee of your Committee, that the Spanish Medical Aid Committee should be asked for help in support of the International Brigadiers at the Maison des Blesses.
I did, as a matter of fact, visit the Maison des Blesses when I attended the last International Refugee Committee in Paris, and was shown round the Institution. There were no inpatients. Apparently it is purely a place for outpatients, and possibly for dressings, as I saw a small room available for dressing and minor operations. They seemed to have an excellent Card Index System and the place was very clean, and I wrote a favourable note in the Visiting Book. But, as far as I know, the conditions then and the conditions now are very different, and if you have any information at the present time I will be very glad to be informed.
I will pass on your letter to the other two Trustees of the Spanish Medical Aid Committee, and after consultation with them I will write to you further.
