Further to our acknowledgment of your letter of 26th October regarding the possibility of securing the release of Ricardo Gonzalvo, a press telegraphist who has been arrested on a political charge, I would like to draw your attention to the statement which was made in the House of Commons on Monday, 22nd October, by the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Hector McNeil. For your information I have set this out on the attached sheet.
