Dear Dr. Jolly,
Thank  you very much for your letter of the 2nd inst., and I remember your name very well, with the very good report of your surgical work which came to the Spanish Medical Aid Committee. I also saw you once when you appeared before the Spanish Medical Aid Committee, but I did not see you again as you state.
I could see you here any afternoon at 4.30 or thereabouts, if you would telephone to my secretary and make an appointment to see me.
I note that you would like to speak to me about the mutilated among the Spanish and International Refugees in France, but this subject is now being considered by the Spanish Medical Aid Trustees, and we have entered into an agreement with the International Federation of Trade Unions for artificial limbs to be supplied to a certain number of refugees who need such refitment.
I hope your book on on War Surgery will be very interesting, but aren't you doing anything as a surgeon in this war, where there are  possibilities of gaining invaluable surgical experience?
