STANDING JOINT COMMITTEE OF INDUSTRIAL WOMEN'S ORGANISATIONS.
MINUTES OF MEETING OF SPANISH RELIEF COMMITTEE - held at TRANSPORT HOUSE, SMITH SQUARE, LONDON, S.W.1. on THURSDAY, 22nd, October 1936, at 5 p.m.
PRESENT: Mrs. Leighton (in the chair), Miss Colman; Miss Elliott; Mrs. James; Miss Lawrence; Mrs. L'Estrange Malone; Miss Manicom; Mrs. Martin; and Miss Sutherland (Secretary).
CO-OPTED MEMBERS.
The Secretary reported that Lady Noel Buxton and Mrs Bentwich had been asked to join the Committee; that they had accepted the invitation, but regretted that it was not possible for them to attend the first meeting owing to previous engagements. Received.
Other names were suggested, and it was AGREED that they be asked to allow their names to be added as supporters of the Committee.
TITLE OF COMMITTEE.
The Secretary reported conversation with representatives of the Medical Aid Committee. After discussion it was AGREED that the Committee should work in co-operation with the International Solidarity Fund only, and that the title of the Committee be:-
Spanish Relief Committee under the auspices of The Standing Joint Committee of Industrial Women's Organisation.
FORM OF RELIEF.
It was AGREED that the Secretary should ascertain through the International Solidarity Fund the types of garment most urgently needed.
