4th February, 1937 .
Dear Madam,
I have consulted with the Chairman about the proposed meeting of the Committee on 11th February and we feel, in view of the fact that there is no new business, that the meeting should be postponed for a week or two and that I should meantime send a short report of our work since the meeting on 14th January.
DESPATCH OF GARMENTS
With the balance of the £1,000 transferred to us from the International Solidarity Fund outfits were bought at the C.W.S. for 400 boys - knickers, two shirts, jersey (or cloth coat). To complete this purchase we used £25 of our own funds. In addition we despatched 1,350 more knitted garments along with the above consignment.
KNITTING
Several new Knitting Committees have been formed since our meeting, and wool has been sent to Knitting Parties in different parts of the country to the value of £85.
Our own appeal has brought in to date £275 and we have received a further donation of £50 from the International Solidarity Fund for the supply of wool.
If any member of the Committee can assist in forming a Knitting Group which could deal with 12 lbs of wool upwards, the C.W.S. would send wool direct to the person in charge, from a quantity of 4 ply mixture wool (various) which they are setting aside for us at 3/6d per lb. This wool is very good value.
