              SPANISH MEDICAL AID COMMITTEE
Minutes of the Meeting held at 24, New Oxford Street, W.C.1. on June 29th 1938
Present:-     Dr. H.B. Morgan in the Chair.
Professor J.R. Marrack, Dr. H. Joules, Mrs. I. Brown, Mrs. L. Manning, Dr. J. Wright, Mr. J. Coyne, Mr. T. Blewitt, Mr. C.H. Norman, Lady Hastings, Dr. S.W. Jeger, Miss N. Adams, Dr. J.A. Gillison, Mr. George Jeger.
An Apology for absence was received from Lord Faringdon.
1. The Minutes of the Meeting held on June 22nd were confirmed and signed.   Miss N. Adams' name was added to those from whom apologies for absence had been received.
2. Matters arising:-
a) A specimen list of the material required for a Mobile Surgical Unit had been received from Dr. Eloesser.    It was decided that this should be scrutinised by the Personnel and Technical Sub-Committee before taking any steps to have it discussed at the Paris Conference.
b) An offer from Lady Hastings to provide some articles as prizes for the forthcoming Fete on July 3rd was gratefully accepted.
c) The Organizing Secretary reported that he had authorised Nurse Esther Silverstein to transfer to Tourist Class on her return to New York, and that the French Line had informed him that she and her companion had taken advantage of this.
3. Special Correspondence.
a) From the C.S.I., Paris, asking whether our assistance could be extended to three wounded people who had gone to Spain from England although their nationality was Palestinian, Czech and German respectively.    It was decided that we enquire as to the extent of the assistance required in these cases, and that we report to the C.S.I. our willingness to assist anti-fascist foreigners on receipt of details regarding their records which would enable us to organise publicity on their behalf.
b) From the L.C.C. asking whether we accept responsibility for the cost of treatment and maintenance of Miss Sybil Clarke in Hammersmith Hospital.    This would be at the rate of £2.9.2. per week.    It was agreed that we accept responsibility for this.    The Organizing Secretary reported that Miss Clarke had been discharged from hospital on Sunday, June 26th, and that he had taken her to her family at Worthing by car.
c) Mr. Jack Stone had returned from driving in Spain and was asking for his return fare and allowance. In view of the fact that he had left the Unit voluntarily about eighteen
