SPANISH MEDICAL AID COMMITTEE.
Minutes of the Meeting held at 24, New Oxford Street, 21.9.38.
Present:- Dr. H.B. Morgan in the Chair.

1. The Minutes of the Meeting of September 14th were confirmed and signed, with an alteration of: "Mr. Wiggins was deputed to ask Mr. Bernstein re Film Shows" into "Mr. Wiggins was asked to approach Mr. Bernstein re Film Shows through his contacts."
2. Matters Arising.
a) re Mr. Hunt. In response to a request for Mr. Hunt's repatriation, Barcelona had cabled that he had left Spain on August 28th. From information received it appeared that he was now in Paris and the C.S.I. had been asked to send him home.
Mr. Wiggins reported on the legal position regarding the summons in Dieppe, and advised us to ask the C.S.I. to obtain a lawyer there to act for us.
b) Mr. Percy Cohen. had now received the spares needed for repairing the car he was taking to Spain; it had not been necessary to send a messenger over.
c) The Luton Committee had collected £210. towards their ambulance and asked whether we could provide the balance necessary.
It was agreed that we do this, but regard it as a loan which they must repay.
d) Recommendations had been received for Eye Instruments from Specialists here, but their prices were £71.8.0. or £137.10.0. It was decided to purchase the instrument specifically asked for at Frs. 12972 (£73.) in Paris.
e) Dentists had been approached regarding the Dental Instruments required and were preparing an appeal to their profession.
3. Special Correspondence.
a) Apologies for absence from Dr. Wright, who is away for two weeks, and Mr. Calder.
b) Cable from Miss Davson for X-Ray Films to be sent by air. These were sent the same day at a cost of £12. The Organising Secretary's action was confirmed.
c) The Labour Party, in reply to our letter asking them to allocate some of their foodstuffs to the Blood Transfusion
