Dear Mr. Brailsford,
re INTERNATIONAL BRIGADE.
I am much obliged to you for your letter of the 10th instant and since seeing you I have been making what enquiries I could into the matter.
With regard to the "Daily Herald" I have had an assurance that they will give all the assistance they can.  They are quite ready to send a package of "Heralds" - probably about 100 or so - each day to such address as we give them.   What they are anxious to secure, of course, is that the papers would not be wasted and that they would be properly distributed from the centre to which they were sent.
I told them the address you had given me, namely, British Brigade, International Column, Albacete, but they think that it would be necessary for them to have the address of some individual who could be responsible for receiving and distributing the papers. They feel that there is bound to be a good deal of disorganisation and confusion and that if they merely addressed the packages to the British Brigade they might be relegated to some remote place and not be distributed at all or only partially distributed.
If you can send me the name of some responsible individual you may depend upon it that the arrangements will be put in hand at once for the despatch of the papers.   I may say that the management also intend putting in a number of illustrated and other periodicals which will be of interest to the men.
