              SPANISH MEDICAL AID COMMITTEE.
Minutes of meeting held on 25th January at 24, New Oxford Street, W.C.1.
Present:- Dr. H. Joules (Chairman), Dr. J.A. Gillison, Mr. N. Wiggins, Professor J.R. Marrack, Mr. R. Calder, Mr. C.H. Norman, Dr. J. Wright, Lord Faringdon, Mr. Le Gros Clark, Mr. G. Jeger.
Apologies were received from Dr. H.C. Boyde, Mrs. I. Brown, and Mr. T. Blewitt.
1)    Minutes of meeting held on January 11th were confirmed and signed. 
2)    Matters arising:
a) Mr. Boulka had been written to and his brother-in-law had been sent £5., but no reply had yet been received from either.
b) Dr. Joules reported that the Reception at B.M.A. House to the doctors returned from Spain had been very successful. Four of the doctors spoke and there were about 200 present. A number of questions were asked and great interest was shown in our work.
c) Dr. Moncrieff had replied suggesting that crude cod liver oil would be better and cheaper than cod liver oil and malt. After discussion on their respective merits it was agreed that several of the doctors on the Committee should further investigate the matter.
d)    It was possible to put only three of the five marquees on the lorries which departed this week.   Arising from this it was suggested that enquiries should be made regarding double-substance marquees, as the light was visible through one thickness of canvas.
e)    Over 90 people had accepted invitations to the Reunion on Friday January 27th.    It was thought advisable to have a couple of short speeches and it was agreed that Sir Peter Chalmers-Mitchell be asked and that Mrs. Manning speak on behalf of the Committee.
f) In the absence of Dr. Boyde, no information was forthcoming regarding Dr. Jolly's financial position, but a telephone enquiry elicited from Dr. Hart that so far as he knew Dr. Jolly was not in financial embarrassment. In view of the fact that he was sailing for New Zealand on the following day, it was agreed that nothing more could be done.
3)    Special Correspondence:
a)   A cable had been received from Rosita Davson, from Barcelona dated the 23rd January:- "Please inform Poole at Perpignan that I shall meet convoy at La Junquera on Friday morning. Please send more money Paris Committee."   The Organising Secretary reported that he had asked the Paris Committee by cable to pay immediately 5000 pesetas to Miss Davson, and had passed the other information on to Mr. Poole.
b) A letter had been received from Mr. Hole re the Dieppe Accident.    He stated that he had been unable to interview the C.S.I. during his journeys through Paris.    The Organising Secretary stated that he had received further communications on this subject from the C.S.I. enclosing a copy of the statement made to the police at Dieppe by Mr. Hunt, and three witnesses at the time of the accident.    These had been sent on to Mr. Hole who had in turn passed them on to Mr. Wiggins for his opinion.    After discussion it was decided that as we now know the name of the solicitors acting for 
the C.S.I.
